About Jay
For as long as I can remember I've been familiar with this deep-seated instinct within me. It told me the path my life would progress in and that regardless of where it takes me, I was obligated to this precondition.
Out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jay Trainer has spent years quietly building a body of work rooted in storytelling, acoustic honesty, and the kind of songs that feel like they've always existed — waiting to be discovered in the fog.
After twenty years on the West Coast, he made his way back to Pittsburgh years ago because the city was never just a place on a map. It was home, bedrock, and the shape of who he is.
From San Francisco sessions with multiple musicians to intimate later recordings, each record is a chapter. The music doesn't chase trends. It grows like old trees — slowly, with deep roots, shaped by weather and time.
